Venus and Puetz back together in Dubai

Sunday, 20 February 2022

Michael Venus and Tim Puetz reunite this week for the first time since their Australian Open quarter final defeat to Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis last month.

The Kiwi German combination are in Dubai for the ATP 500 tournament and are the fourth seeds. But they have copped a difficult draw against Croatians Ivan Dodig and Marin Cilic.

Venus played with Dodig last week in Doha losing in the first round.

Dodig and Cilic were the pair who beat Venus and Marcus Daniell in the semi finals at the Tokyo Olympics last August.

Meanwhile Erin Routliffe has continued her partnership with Poland’s Alicja Rosolska fresh from making the doubles final at the WTA tournament in St Petersburg. The pair are in Doha for the WTA 1000 tournament and have been drawn against Russian Kamilla Rakhimova and Denmark’s Clara Tauson.
