We are seeking coaching services from an energetic and enthusiastic tennis coaching company who is keen to take a leading role towards the success of tennis in our community. Here is an opportunity to start or grow your tennis coaching business within an established club.

Tawa Tennis Club has a small, keen junior base and growing adult players across all levels of play. With around 150 active members, 8 plexipave courts of which 5 are lit, and an enthusiastic committee. We won Club of the Year in the Tennis Central Awards in 2021.

The coaching team will work closely with the committee to provide the best possible coaching experience for members. There is also an opportunity to build relationships with other clubs in the Wellington Northern and Porirua suburbs.

What are we seeking in our club coaching?

  • Passion for grassroots tennis and focus on growth of tennis in Tawa Basin
  • Club orientated within a coaching business model
  • Energy and commitment to our club and tennis in our region
  • Actively engage schools and community programmes to grow participation
  • Willingness to mentor and grow assistant coaches
  • Manage and organise all coaching programmes (initially with a focus on junior coaching programmes).
  • Regular and timely communication with the committee, players and parents.

 What do you need to have?

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • High level of professionalism
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to relate easily to both adults and juniors
  • ITF Level 1 or 2, Tennis NZ coaching qualification (or working towards Tennis NZ coaching framework)
  • Appropriate work visa, NZ Residency or be a NZ Citizen
  • Current Police Check desirable (will be completed on acceptance of contract)
  • First Aid Certificate

What tennis services are we seeking?

We are seeking to develop a new coaching structure over two stages. Initial focus will be on juniors then moving to all club services.

Stage 1 - set up in September and deliver services from 12 October 2026

  • Hot Shots coaching
  • Junior Interclub coaching
  • Promoting tennis in eight local schools
  • Administration of all junior coaching services
  • Friday club night (Juniors and seniors attend)
  • Holiday programmes
  • Collaborating with existing adult coaching services with another coaching company

Stage 2 - delivering all coaching programmes. Timeframe to be negotiated.

  • Tennis pathways across all levels of play
  • Adult coaching (connected to Tennis NZ programmes)
  • Private junior and senior lessons
  • Specialist clinics focused on needs to club members (e.g. serving, playing doubles etc)

Options also available include:

  • Running 2 - 3 annual tournaments at the club
  • Squad development programmes

Tawa is a fantastic suburb on the northern corridor of Wellington City. Close access to the motorway and Transmission Gully. Easy place to travel to and from and has some fantastic coffee shops! Tawa Tennis Club is ready  to grow again with the support from a fantastic coaching team.

Contract and remuneration will be discussed with the successful coaching services applicant.

Tennis Northern Tennis Manager

Lead the growth of tennis in one of New Zealand's largest tennis regions 

Tennis Northern is seeking an experienced and motivated Tennis Manager to lead our coaching and programme delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive Regional Sports Organisation committed to more people playing more tennis, more often. Working closely with clubs, coaches, Tennis New Zealand and key stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in growing participation, strengthening coaching capability and supporting player development from grassroots through to performance pathways.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you'll provide leadership across Tennis Northern's coaching and participation programmes while managing our team of contract coaches. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and deliver high-quality coaching programmes for juniors and adult and monitor programme performance to ensure continuous improvement
  • Lead and develop Tennis Northern's coaching team and build coach capability through mentoring and professional development
  • Grow participation and strengthening player pathways
  • Provide input into interclub, tournament and other competition programmes to ensure a balanced approach between participation, competition and player development
  • Build strong relationships with clubs by providing guidance and support to club coaches, promoting the consistent delivery of Tennis New Zealand programmes and coaching best practice
  • In consultation with the Academy Director select players that fit the selection criteria to represent Tennis Northern at the National Teams event and provide travel support if required 

The role is based at Albany Sports Park and includes flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

 About You

You are an experienced leader who enjoys developing people and creating opportunities for participants to succeed. You'll bring:

  • Experience leading coaching programmes and managing people

  • Excellent relationship management and communication abilities

Senior Coach – Contractor Position


Evolve Tennis Coaching is seeking a qualified Senior Coach who can work with juniors
and adults at all levels of the game. Evolve Tennis Coaching is Wellington’s leading club coach provider running coaching
programmes at 5 clubs, with the potential for further growth.

The position is based at the Khandallah and Thorndon Tennis & Squash Clubs, and the Muritai Tennis Club. We
are looking for a passionate, motivated and experienced coach to join our team.


The Role:
• Contractor position
• Some weekend work may be required
• $35 - $50 per hour based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience
• Approximately 30 hours per week with additional hours possible
• Preferred start date of Monday 17 August

SENIOR TENNIS COACH – SUNNYHILLS TENNIS CLUB

Gabriel Hernandez Coaching, based out of multiple clubs in Auckland city, is looking for a Senior Coach to work at Sunnyhills TC, but with the opportunity to build a full time role, coaching at other venues in the city, as well.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Job will require the senior coach to run confidently all types lessons (Hotshots, interclub-level juniors & adults, beginner group classes, cardio tennis, private lessons etc).

Coach should also manage a team of club & assistant coaches when the groups are large.

 

EXPERIENCE: Senior coach should be at least level 1 ITF or the international equivalent. Should also have a high-level playing background, and at least 5 years of coaching experience

 

KEY SKILLS required:

-Great Communication (in English) with other coaches, club members, parents, students etc.

-Reliable, punctual, team player and flexible

 

START DATE: October 2026 but with the option to start building it up during the winter months. Once Term 4 starts, this will become a full time position with 35 to 45hrs available for the right candidate.

 

REMUNERATION: Between $50 to $65/hr depending on the type of class run and also based on coach’s experience/skills. Weekend work is essential.

 We’d prefer if the coach was open to play senior interclub for one of the clubs, during the summer months.

We’ve one of the best & largest coaching teams in the country and work out of some great clubs.

Police/background check will be required.

During term breaks, coach has the option to keep working with private lessons, holiday programs etc or have a break and resume coaching the following term.

Full-Time/Part-Time Tennis Coach

Inspire Tennis based at Marlborough Tennis Club/ Marlborough District. Inspire Tennis is the contracted provider to Marlborough Tennis Club and Tennis Marlborough.  

Inspire Tennis is looking for a tennis coach in Blenheim. Inspire Tennis runs both club and regional coaching programs out of the wonderful Marlborough Tennis Club and Renwick Tennis Club. Pay will be based on experience, with lots of room to grow within the business.  

This role will involve:

  • Hot Shots Coaching 

  • Junior & Adult Group Coaching

  • Tennis in Schools

  • Private lessons with both juniors and adults

The Game (www.thegame.net.nz) is a tennis management company that delivers comprehensive coaching programs to all ages and abilities in 5 clubs and around 30 schools across Auckland.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Development Tennis Coach to join our growing North Shore team. Working under the guidance of our Head Coach, this role is ideal for a coach with experience delivering Hot Shots and junior development programs.

This is a full-time position with for 30 hours per week, including afternoons, evenings and weekends. The successful applicant will be based primarily at Campbells Bay and may also have opportunities to work across other Auckland venues operated by The Game.

Coach - Hamilton Tennis Academy

Hamilton tennis academy coaches over 200 people every week. 
We run Hotshots, a Development/performance programme, Cardio tennis, our own clinic/workshop type programs and our own social & competitive competitions and have multiple private coaching programmes.

We are in search of a coach available to work part time or full time within all aspects of the business; including Schools, Hotshots, Interclub, Academy, Private Lessons and more. This can be a good way to work part time for example, along with your studies.

Head Coach - Permanent Position

We are looking for two full-time coaches to join our team based in Wairarapa, working toward our vision of a strong tennis region. This is an exciting opportunity to join a coaching team in a region where tennis is growing. The role includes working with junior players on our clay courts at Dry River Tennis Centre as well as with clubs and schools to develop tennis throughout the region. River City Tennis is looking for an energetic, organised, and experienced Head Coach to lead and grow tennis in the Whanganui region.
