Love Tennis Weekend is back for 2020

After resounding success in 2019, we’re excited to once again offer Love Tennis to all affiliated clubs across the country 10-11 October 2020! Even better, this year we’re making it free for clubs to get involved!
 
Last year Love Tennis united the tennis community in promoting all that is great about our sport. The colour, excitement and festive atmosphere at clubs made for the perfect welcome to entice new and returning players to pick up a racquet. With more than 2000 new club members signing up directly from Love Tennis and more than 13,000 participants at Love Tennis events across the weekend, the results speak for themselves!
 
This year we hope to see even more clubs take up Love Tennis and promote themselves proudly to their local community.  We know times are tough right now and hope removing cost as a barrier will make it that bit easier for clubs to take part. 

We also want to acknowledge the later dates for Love Tennis this year.  Covid-19 really impacted sporting seasons and there were many unknowns about the return to Alert Level 1.  For the best chance of success, we wanted the public to have absolute confidence to socialise in large groups with strangers and an October date assured that.  

The closer we get to summer the easier it is to promote tennis to the general public.  We know that successful clubs are those who are ready to welcome new people at any time of year, making tennis accessible and inclusive year round.  As always, Love Tennis is about getting more people at tennis clubs and for clubs to show off everything they offer – from casual court hire, to lessons, social play to memberships, cardio tennis to interclub teams.  There’s something for everyone and we want your club to jump on that message!

Club volunteers are the backbone of our sport and by signing up and committing to promote your club, you join an army of tennis volunteers showing New Zealand that tennis is the perfect participation sport for people of all ages and abilities.

We ask that all clubs who are keen to be involved to please complete the registration form HERE as soon as possible. The deadline for signing up is 5PM 22nd July 2020.
