Draw made for Fed Cup by PNP Paribas
The draw has been made for the Asia Oceania Group 2 Fed Cup tournament being hosted by New Zealand at Wellington’s Renouf Centre.
The eight teams have been put into two pools of four with New Zealand pitted with Singapore, Pakistan and Mongolia in Group A.
Group B features Thailand the Philippines, Turkmenistan and Guam. New Zealand and Thailand are favoured to advance to Saturday’s final.
The New Zealand team features Paige Hourigan, Valentina Ivanov, Erin Routliffe, Emily Fanning and debutant Kelly Southwood.
The Kiwis have a bye tomorrow and play their first match against Mongolia on Wednesday. The team captained by Marina Erakovic will face Pakistan on Thursday and Singapore on Frida with the winners from each Group advancing to Saturday’s final.
