Venus and Murray come up just short in Adelaide

Michael Venus and his new partner Jamie Murray head to Auckland after finishing runner up at the Adelaide ATP 250 tournament across the Tasman.

Venus and Murray the 4th seeds were beaten 6-3 7-6 (3) by 3rd seeds Lloyd Glasspool of Britain and Finland’s Harri Heliovaara.

Venus and Murray are the 4th seeds for Auckland’s ASB Classic and play Americans Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow in the first round.

Artem Sitak and his American partner Alex Lawson face a difficult first round assignment today against 2nd seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.

Meanwhile Erin Routliffe has reunited with her regular partner Alicja Rosolska at the WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide. They have drawn Australian wildcards Alana Parnaby and Olivia Tjandramulia in the first round.

Rubin Statham finished a successful week at the Noumea Challenger tournament at the weekend winning the doubles title with his partner Colin Sinclair. Statham and Sinclair won the final 6-4 6-3 against the Japanese pair of Toshihide Matsui and Kaito Uesugi.
