Routliffe into WTA doubles semi-final in St Petersburg

New Zealand doubles player Erin Routliffe and her Polish partner Alicja Rosolska have powered into the semi-finals at the WTA 500 tournament in St Petersburg in Russia,

They have crushed the fourth seeds Norway’s Ulrikke Eikeri and Slovakia’s Viktoria Kuzmova 6-4 6-1 in an hour and four minutes. They converted four of their seven break point chances.

“I am excited, we had a good win today, knew it would be a tough match but we played well in the important points.” Routliffe said. Routliffe and Rosolska will face Russians Natela Dzalamidze and Alexandra Panova for a place in the final.

The win is projected to take Routliffe to a new career high WTA doubles ranking of 42.
