NZ 14u girls team in Malaysia for World Junior Tennis - Asia Oceania qualifying event

The New Zealand 14u Girls Team have arrived today in Sarawak, Malaysia to compete in the World Junior Tennis Asia/Oceania Qualifying event. 

Yashwitha Reddy Thummala leads the team with fellow Aucklander Una Misic, Nelson raised Dallas King-Ehau and non-travelling reserve Audrey Tran. Chris Bint is the Captain alongside Tracey King, Team Manager. 

Thummala is currently ranked number 1 in NZ for the 14u age group. She has captured the 12u National Grasscourt and Indoor titles in 2022 and reached the round of 16 in the 12u singles of the prestigious Orange Bowl in December.

Misic and King-Ehau reached the semi-finals and finals respectively of the singles and doubles of the 2022 NZ 14u Championships in December. 

The team arrived in Auckland this week for a two-day training camp at ASB Tennis Arena before flying over early to prepare before the event starts on Monday 20 March. The draw and official ITF Junior Tournament event link can be found HERE

The top three teams qualify for the World Junior Finals being held in Czech Republic in August.
