New Zealand’s Isaac Becroft has claimed the doubles title at the ITF $15,000 tournament in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with his French partner Timo Legout.

In the final on Saturday (Sunday NZ time), they defeated the No 1 seeds Alfredo Perez and Jack Vance in a gripping match, winning 4-6 6-4 10-8.

It is Becroft’s first doubles title since he and fellow Kiwi James Watt triumphed in Caloundra, Australia in July 2023.

Becroft and Legout benefitted from a walkover over the No 3 seeds Taym Al Azmeh and Danil Panarin in the semifinals, but before that they had a couple of impressive straight-set wins.

The 23-year-old Becroft is doing his MBA at Oklahoma State University, and is playing for them until Spring 2025. In the singles draw in Fayetteville, he lost in the second round to Legout who was the tournament’s top seed.
