Junior Billie Jean King Cup & Junior Davis Cup Teams Named
The New Zealand 16u teams for the Asia/Oceania Junior Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup Qualifying Events are confirmed.
Both qualifying events are being held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan on clay where the teams compete for an entry into the World Finals.
The NZ Girls Billie Jean King Cup Team consists of Yashwitha Thummala (Auckland), Emily Dunn (Capital Coast), Audrey Tran (Auckland), Non-travelling Reserve: Dallas King-Ehau and captain Emily Fanning headed to Shymkent earlier to acclimatize and train on clay.
The girls have drawn into Group 3 along with Korea, Hong Kong, China and Kyrgyzstan. The top two teams in each group advance into a knockout draw with the top 4 teams qualifying for the Finals.
The NZ Junior Davis Cup team consists of Liam Youn (Northern), Luca Bland (Auckland), Alvin Na (Canterbury), Non-travelling Reserve: Max Flanagan (Auckland). Clint Packer is the travelling coach for the boys team.
The boys team campaign starts on the 19th of May with the draw to be released on the 18th May.
