Hourigan into doubles final in Ecuador

New Zealand’s Paige Hourigan and her British partner Jodie Burrage have reached the doubles final at the ITF US $25,000 tournament in Salinas in Ecuador.

 They have beaten the Swiss pair of Conny Perrin and Tess Sugnaux 6-3 6-0 in 1 hour and 2 minutes. They will take on Jacqueline Cabaj Awad from Sweden, and Portugal’s Francisca Jorge for the title.

 Meanwhile Artem Sitak and Spanish partner Sergio Martos Gornes have been beaten in the semi-finals of the ATP Challenger tournament in Biella, 6-2 6-2 by Rafael Matos and Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves.

Sitak will play a Challenger tournament in Heilbronn in Germany next week, with another doubles partner, Australian Marc Polmans.

 Michael Venus and his Australian partner John Peers are in Rome for the Italian Open, Rome Masters 1000 tournament with their draw to come out overnight.
