Daniell and Oswald start well in Munich

Marcus Daniell and his Austrian partner Philipp Oswald have made a strong start to the ATP 250 tournament in Munich.  They have beaten Georgia’s Nikoloz Basilashvili and Germany’s Andre Begemann in the first round.

The fourth seeds have won 6-2 7-5 in 1 hour 2. They were largely dominant on serve saving five of six break points and breaking serve four times from seven chances.

They will face the German pair of Yannick Hanfmann and Dominik Koepfer in the quarter finals.
